1. Design

The AirPods 3 looks similar to the AirPods Pro but without the silicon tip. It’s basically a hybrid between the AirPods 2 and the AirPods Pro. However, the stem on the AirPods 3 has been made a little shorter to make them more comfortable. Also, the angle of the drivers has been changed to shoot the sound at a better angle directly in your ears. The charging case on the AirPods 3 remains the same as the AirPods Pro.

2. Adaptive EQ, Spatial Audio, and Dolby Atmos

Spatial Audio and Adaptive EQ are features which Apple has kept exclusive to the AirPods Pro and AirPods Max till the 2nd generation, but this time they have introduced both of them directly in the AirPods 3. So if you are fond of these, you might want to get your hands over the AirPods Pro or the AirPods 3, as the complete support for Spatial Audio is not available on the AirPods 2. On the other hand, Dolby Atmos support is preserved on the AirPods 3 and can also be found on the AirPods 2 and the AirPods Pro.

3. Water Resistance

AirPods 3 are now IPX4 rated, which means they are resistant to slight splashes of water and sweat and can be used during workouts worry-free. In addition, the AirPods Pro is also water-resistant, whereas the regular AirPods 2 do not have protection against water splashes.

Apple claims an extra 1 hour of battery life on the AirPods 3, increasing a single charge usage duration to 6 hours. The AirPods 2 have a battery life of around 5 hours, and the AirPods Pro average out at 4.5 hours, as per Apple. This makes the AirPods 3 the longest-lasting AirPods in Apple’s lineup. However, the exact battery life statistics may vary from user to user based on their unique usage.

AirPods 3 can last over 1 hour on a 5-minute charge. The charging case can now charge the AirPods 3 from 0-100% four times. So when you combine battery life on the AirPods 3 with the charging case is said to be around 30 hours.
