Lenovo Vibe Shot is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset which is clocked at 1.7GHz and tagged to a 3GB RAM. The display shapes up in the form of a 5-inch FHD screen with Corning Gorilla 3 protection. The design approach for the Vibe Shot has been appealing, as opposed the common perceptions that camera centric phones are ugly, the Lenovo Vibe Shot looks stunning in its brushed metal finish and the neatly chamfered edges. It is definitely one of the most sleek and elegant looking smartphones in the sub Rs 25000 price bracket.
Post the Nokia Lumia 1020 we have not seen any attempts from smartphone manufacturers to blend in a full fledged camera unit into a smartphone and this had left a void in the segment. The Lenovo Vibe Shot features a 16-Megapixel primary camera unit with a six-piece modular lens and a tri color LED flash. Furthermore, the sensor also comes with back light illumination, Optical Image Stabalization and an infrared focus for precise focusing. Lenovo has fitted a 8-Megapixel secondary camera, which should hopefully appease the selfie fans too. The best part of the Lenovo Vibe Shot is the physical shutter button on the right side, this is one of the reasons we loved previous generation Nokia Lumia phones, as we still find clicking pictures from the onscreen buttons a rather messy affair. The pro mode in the Vibe Shot will come in handy for shutterbugs who won’t mind toying with the advanced settings in order to capture the perfect shot. On the storage front, the Vibe Shot will offer a 32GB of onboard storage along with an microSD card slot that is capable of accommodating 128 GB. The device will be backed up by a 2,900mAh battery and the unibody construction means that battery is not user replaceable. Considering SD 615 and FHD display, this might be seen as ‘not enough’ battery. The Lenovo Vibe Shot will run Android Lollipop wrapped up by the Vibe UI. The smartphone comes with the usual bevy of connectivity features including 4G LTE and Bluetooth 4.1. Lenovo Vibe Shot will cater to a certain niche of buyers who are looking out for a powerful camera embedded in a traditional smartphone. Unlike other Lenovo phones, this won’t be exclusive to Flipkart, and will be sold across multiple channels starting this week. Stay tuned for our first impressions, details camera review and full review of Vibe Shot in coming days.
