OnePlus 9
Starting with the design, the OnePlus 9 features what OnePlus calls a “burdenless design” with a curved back and a reinforced polymer frame. The phone comes in three colorways: Winder Mist, Arctic Sky, and Astral Black. Towards the front, it has is a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with HDR10+ certification and 1100 nits of brightness. And the display offers a 120Hz refresh rate, similar to the earlier OnePlus models.
Under the hood, the OnePlus 9 runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, which is an octa-core chipset with 5G connectivity and has an Adreno 660 GPU to handle the graphics processing. Assisting the processor is 8GB / 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB / 256GB of UFS3.1 storage. There is a 4500mAh battery on the device with support for Warp Charge 65T and 15W Qi wireless charging (North America / Europe model). As for other specifications, the device comes with support for 5G, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC. It includes an in-display fingerprint scanner for authentication along with dual stereo speakers (Dolby Atmos) and a USB 3.1 port. On the software front, the phone runs on OxygenOS 11 based on Android 11 out of the box. In the camera department, the OnePlus 9 sports a triple-camera setup on the rear with an LED flash. The setup includes a 48MP (Sony IMX689) sensor accompanied by a 50MP (Sony IMX766) ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP monochrome lens. On the front, there is a 16MP (Sony IMX471) sensor with an f/2.4 aperture.
OnePlus 9 Pro
Similar to the vanilla OnePlus 9, the OnePlus 9 Pro also features OnePlus’ “burdenless design” and offers three color options: Morning Mist, Pine Green, and Stellar Black. On the front, it has a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with LTPO technology that promises to bring down power consumption by up to 50%. The display offers a QHD+ resolution with 1300 nits of brightness, HDR10+ support, MEMC, and a 120Hz refresh rate.
In terms of performance, the OnePlus 9 Pro has the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor as the vanilla OnePlus 9, coupled with 8GB / 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB / 256GB of UFS3.1 storage. To power the internals, it has a 4500mAh battery (similar to the OnePlus 9) with support for Warp Charge 65T and Warp Charge 50 wireless charging. Besides, the OnePlus 9 Pro comes with dual stereo speakers (Dolby Atmos), an in-display fingerprint scanner for authentication, and a USB 3.1 port. The OnePlus 9R has a somewhat similar design to the other OnePlus 9 models. It is available in two colors: Carbon Black and Lake Blue. On the front, it has a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with 2.5D glass on top and a 120Hz refresh rate. At its core, the OnePlus 9R runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 870, which is an octa-core processor with Adreno 650 GPU and 5G connectivity. There is a 4500mAh battery with Warp Charge 65 charging support. As for optics, the OnePlus 9R comes with a quad-camera setup on the rear, which includes a 48MP (Sony IMX586) primary sensor, accompanied by a 16MP (Sony IMX481) ultra-wide lens, a 5MP macro lens, and a 2MP monochrome lens. On the front, there is a 16MP sensor for selfies.
