Samsung Galaxy Chromebook: Design and Display
As already mentioned, with the new Galaxy Chromebook, Samsung is taking a more premium approach, for which, it is using an aesthetic design language with the body that comes in at just 9.9mm thick. While the design of the device is one of the priorities of the company, its durability and the ability to withstand day-to-day use is taken care of with the durable aluminum chassis. Depending on how you like your Chromebook, you get two color options: a bright, flashy Fiesta Red and a subtle Mercury Gray.
Coming to the visuals, the Galaxy Chromebook flaunts a 13.3-inch AMOLED display that goes all the way to the edges to give an immersive viewing experience with its near-infinite screen and slim bezels, sitting at just 3.9mm. The display offers a 4K UHD resolution with 3840 x 2160 pixels, HDR400 for better contrast, and Ambient EQ that adjusts the brightness and color temperature of the display based on the surrounding light.
Samsung Galaxy Chromebook: Hardware
Under the hood, the new Galaxy Chromebook packs in Intel’s latest 10th-generation Core i5 processor with Intel UHD graphics, coupled with 16GB of LPDDR3 RAM and up to 1TB of SSD storage. Samsung says its latest Chromebook is co-engineered with Intel as part of their Project Athena. As a reason, it has gone through rigorous testing to achieve the program’s targets and hardware specifications to ensure a good experience, overall, for the end consumer. Further, the device has a 49.2Wh battery, and obviously, runs on the Chrome OS.
Among other things, the all-new Galaxy Chromebook comes with Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+) to offer a smooth and fast experience, a built-in Pen to allow you to draw, write, or navigate better, a fingerprint scanner for authentication, 2x USB-C ports, a UFS/MicroSD combo, and 2x 2W speakers. Besides these, the device comes with two cameras: a 1MP camera on the front for video calling and an 8MP camera on the keyboard deck, for when you switch the Chromebook to a tablet mode.
Samsung Galaxy Chromebook: Pricing and Availability
The all-new Samsung Galaxy Chromebook comes in two color options: Fiesta Red and Mercury Gray. It is priced at $999 (~ Rs 71,832) and will go on sale starting Q1 2020 in the US.
