All this for Rs 20,999!

Let’s get one thing clear – at Rs 20,999, the Moto g 5G provides exceptional value for money. The phone is the first in the Indian market to come with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G processor, which redefines performance in its price segment, and comes with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, which is expandable to 1 TB using a micro SD card slot. On the front, there is a bright 6.7-inch full HD+ MaxVision HDR 10 display, with a tiny punch hole notch that houses a 16-megapixel selfie camera. On the back is a three-camera setup, with a 48-megapixel main sensor with a large f/1.7 aperture and quad pixel technology that enables it to deliver great images not just in normal light conditions, but also in low light ones. Backing up this main sensor are an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens with a 118-degree point of view which literally expands your field of vision and a macro sensor that lets you get really close to your subject. No, there are no sensors here for window dressing – just those that really work. There is even a smart composition mode that tells you when a photograph can be improved. The result is some of the best photography you will see on any phone not just in this price segment but even in some that are priced much higher.

This being a Moto g, it, of course, comes with pure Android, zero bloatware, and timely updates, all garnished with moto gestures, and yes, there is also a dedicated Google Assistant button on the side, allowing you to use the feature in the most intuitive, simple manner. Onboard are all the connectivity options you could ask for, including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and even NFC and yes, 5G. That too 5G with global Sub 6 band support, 4X4 MIMO, and Carrier Aggregation ensuring that the Moto G will give you fantastic connection speeds and global compatibility. And ensuring all this keeps running for a while is the task of a large 5000 mAh battery (you would not guess that slim, svelte frame contains it) which comes with a 20W TurboPower fast charger in the box. Not only does it have the juice to keep going for two days, but can serve up 10 hours of use with just 15 minutes of TurboPower charging! All this packed inside a frame with a distinct design, whether you opt for Volcanic Grey or Silver Grey, which not only turns heads but is also water repellant and has an IP 52 rating!

Beat this, Nord!

At Rs 20,999, the Moto g 5G has zero competition if we factor in 5G, for there is no other phone in this segment that brings this next-gen connectivity at this price point. And well, there is no other that can match it in terms of that processor, as they simply do not have it. Indeed, the closest competitor to the Moto g 5G would be the OnePlus Nord, which brings 5G connectivity to the table but at a much higher starting price point of Rs 27,999 (for its 128GB variant). And even when compared in terms of performance, the Moto g 5G seems to enjoy a clear edge over the Nord. Design is a matter of opinion, but the IP 52 water resistance on the Moto device is a definite plus. The Moto also has a much bigger display – 6.7 inches to the 6.44-inch one on the Nord. And the Snapdragon 750G processor comes with a 27 percent faster GPU performance than the Snapdragon 765G on the Nord. In fact, the 750G has better benchmark scores than the 765G, and is also a much newer processor, using the latest Cortex A77 architecture with 2 x Kryo 570 Gold Cores for enhanced performance as compared to the earlier Cortex A76 architecture with Kryo 475 cores on the 765G.

The Moto G also comes with a 20% larger battery at 5000 mAh as compared to the 4115 mAh one on the Nord, and well, its stock Android provides an infinitely cleaner experience than the Oxygen OS on the OnePlus Nord, which is slowly showing signs of getting a little cluttered. And well, even when it comes to 5G, the Moto G scores over the Nord because it supports 11 global 5G network bands as compared to 5 on the Nord. The Moto G also comes with carrier aggregation, a feature the Nord lacks. And yes, the Moto G has the little matter of expandable memory (up to 1TB), allowing you to store more on the same device – the OnePlus Nord has no expandable memory slot! Oh, and it starts at a price that is an incredible Rs.7000 below that of the OnePlus Nord – Rs 20,999 (19,999 with HDFC card discount) as compared to Rs 27,999 (for the comparable 128GB variant)!

Hello, new champ Moto!

Let us go through this one more time, as a very famous CEO would have once said “Global 5G band support, expandable memory, a newer processor with faster GPU speed and more Kryo cores, a bigger battery, and a bigger display. All this at a lower price. Are you hearing me?” All of which is more than enough for us to anoint the Moto g 5G as the champ in its price segment. And make it a better option even than the more expensive OnePlus Nord. The moto g 5G goes on sale starting 7th December, exclusively on Flipkart. Buy on Flipkart
