Tagg PowerBass-700 Headphones Review
Design & Build (7.5/10)
The headphone is very lightweight and weighs only 200 grams which ensures you don’t feel the weight when wearing it for a long duration. I had used it for a couple of hours of my workout time, and it was just fine. The fit is excellent, and so is the noise dampening. I go out to the gym every day, and loud music is part of it. Thankfully, the padded headphones worked very well.
While the design of the headphone is similar to any headphone in this range, what I liked about it is that you can fit it almost anywhere. The foldable design with 180-degree turning option for the padded section (ergonomic pivoting) makes sure it can fold in-itself. Coming to the build, I must confess that it’s pretty basic and standard. While the company claims it to be sturdy, I would still be very careful with any headphone. One of the headphone sides includes the charging port, bass button, power on/off, microphone, and volume buttons. To increase to decrease the volume, keep pushing the buttons up or down to increase or decrease. This is one thing I did not like. It’s too much effort to adjust the volume. A simple push and hold would have been a better option.
Battery & Wired Mode
The Tagg PowerBass-700 houses 500 mAh battery which lasted for almost two days with around 8-9 hours of music and usage every day. In case the headphone runs out of battery juice, you can plug in the 3.5 mm adapter or the Aux-in to keep using it. It also comes with an inbuilt microphone which worked well during the calls. Just press the power button slightly, and you can answer the call without picking up your phone. While I didn’t measure the distance, the claimed range for the Bluetooth headphone is 20ft. I had used it all around my home while connected to a laptop or phone, and it did not lose the connection.
Music & Audio Experience
Talking about the prime feature – Bass Toggle – which enhances bass response. The first thing I would say is, don’t use it for regular music. It’s not meant for every kind of music, but only where the BASS is the key factor. However, if you want to have BASS everywhere, experiment a bit with it to find the right balance. Turn on the bass button, and then decrease the volume level till you find a level which sounds right for you.
Lastly, I did not find any audio leak even with full volume. Overall Tagg PowerBass 700 looks good. Its noise dampening feature along with battery life with satisfying audio quality is a plus for me. What do you think?
