Redmi’s first-ever 5G phone in India was the Redmi Note 10T, which was launched in July 2021. The device bridged the gap of 5G connectivity across the Redmi Note 10 Series with the help of the Dimensity 700 chipset. Soon after, we saw the Redmi Note 11T Series as a follow-up, with slight improvements.
List of Redmi 5G Phones in India
While 5G is still a long time away, some people might still be interested in picking up a 5G phone for the sake of future-proofing. The government of India announced that the 5G auctions would take place later in 2022. So we should see the 5G rollout happening in early 2023, with mass rollout expected around late 2023 or early 2024. Here is a list of all 5G Redmi Phones in India available as of writing this article. Be assured that we will be updating this list as and when Redmi launches new 5G phones in India.
1. Redmi Note 10T 5G
The Redmi Note 10T 5G (not to be confused with the Mi 10T) was the pioneer of 5G connectivity for Redmi. The device comes with the Dimensity 700 5G chipset, which can handle regular tasks and light gaming. In addition, it sports a triple rear camera setup, with a primary camera of 48MP, followed by a 2MP macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor.
Another highlight of the Redmi Note 10T 5G is its 5000mAh battery, which lasts well over a day even with heavy usage. To recharge this cell, you get an 18W charger in the box. The Redmi Note 10T 5G removed a few good pages from its 4G sibling. It lacks stereo speakers, misses out on 33W fast charging, and gets an LCD display instead of AMOLED, for the favor of 5G connectivity. The Redmi Note 10T 5G pricing starts at Rs. 13,499 as of today. Alternatives for the Redmi Note 10T 5G include the POCO M3 Pro 5G, which offers the same chipset, similar cameras at a slightly lower price tag of Rs. 11,999. Buy Redmi Note 10T 5G
2. Redmi Note 11T 5G
The Redmi Note 11T 5G was a surprise launch in India, as it came before the actual Redmi Note 11 Series. The device saw a processor upgrade to the Dimensity 810 chipset, with a few incremental upgrades in camera and battery. The Redmi Note 11T 5G can deliver solid performance with the Dimensity 810 onboard. The camera also got an upgrade with a 50MP sensor. And the missing 33W fast charging on the Redmi Note 10T made its way here on the Redmi Note 11T 5G. This upgrade seemed to have fixed the drawbacks of the Redmi Note 10T before even the Redmi Note 11 Series began. However, pricing for the Redmi Note 11T starts at Rs. 16,999, which makes it face some heavy competition.
So, what are your alternatives in this case? Just like the Redmi Note 10T – Poco M3 Pro 5G fight, the Redmi Note 11T 5G faces a head-on competition from the POCO M4 Pro 5G that comes with the same chipset, and a similar set of cameras, for a lower price tag of Rs. 14,999. But the competition doesn’t end here for the Redmi Note 11T. You also have the Realme 9 5G, with the same Dimensity 810 processor and a familiar triple rear camera setup. The Realme 9 5G is also priced at Rs. 14,999. The drawback here is just 18W charging, as compared to 33W on the other two. The higher price tag of the Redmi Note 11T makes it slightly harder to take the lead this time, but if you are a long-term Redmi user, and wish to stick to your favorite lineup, then the device won’t disappoint you. 3. Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G
The Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G is the latest addition of 5G devices in Redmi’s Note portfolio. The phone comes with the Snapdragon 695 chipset in India. It also comes with 67W fast charging support, which is the highest for a 5G Redmi Note device. The Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G gets a 108MP primary rear camera as a part of the triple rear camera setup. The other two lenses include an 8MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP macro sensor.
The Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G starts at Rs. 20,999 for the base variant. At this price, the device faces competition from multiple phones. For example, the Moto G71 comes with the same Snapdragon 695 chipset and 5G connectivity at Rs. 18,999. But misses out on 67W fast charging. We also have the iQOO Z3 5G with Snapdragon 768G, which, by slight margins, can be considered to be better than the Snapdragon 695. The device also gets 55W fast charging, a triple rear camera setup with a 64MP primary lens, for Rs. 19,990. Buy Redmi Note 11T 5G
4. Redmi K50i 5G
The Redmi K50i 5G is a performance-oriented device that was launched recently in the Indian market. This is the first 5G phone in Redmi K Series devices that are available in India. The phone plays the spec game pretty well with its Dimensity 8100 5G chipset, 144Hz LCD screen, triple rear cameras, stereo speakers, and a headphone jack. It is powered by a 5080mAh battery backed with a 67W fast charger.
The Redmi K50i 5G pricing starts at Rs. 25,999 for the base 6GB+128GB variant. In this segment, the Redmi K50i is challenged by the likes of POCO F4 5G and the iQOO Neo 6 5G, both of which come with the Snapdragon 870 chipset and 120Hz AMOLED screens. The iQOO Neo 6 5G (4700mAh) has a slightly larger battery than the POCO F4 5G (4500mAh), but it is still less when compared to the Redmi K50i. When you consider the price-to-performance ratio, the Redmi K50i does have a significant lead over its competition.
Which is the Best 5G Redmi Phone in India?
In our opinion, there are two really good 5G Redmi phones that are available in India, in two different segments. In the midrange category, the Redmi Note 11T 5G is a great buy at Rs. 16,999, where you get the Dimensity 810 chipset, 33W fast charging, and a massive 5000mAh battery, coupled with a decent set of cameras. When you move higher up on the price band, the Redmi K50i 5G offers you flagship grade specifications for Rs. 25,999. You get the powerful 5 nm-based Dimensity 8100 chipset, 67W fast charging, along with a 5080mAh battery. So if your budget is around the Rs. 30,000 mark, and you are looking to buy something from Redmi, then the Redmi K50i 5G is a really good choice.
Are There Any Upcoming Redmi 5G Phones in India?
It is slightly hard to predict upcoming Redmi phones because Xiaomi is known to rotate devices across Mi, Redmi, and POCO branding in India, as compared to the global markets. As of now, there are no upcoming 5G devices under the Redmi lineup. However, if we come across any new device, we will keep this list updated.
