Xiaomi India’s official Twitter handle conveyed this information today through a tweet, according to which, due to the Rupee value against the Dollar depreciating by almost 15% since the beginning of the year, Xiaomi has to incur an increase in input cost which has resulted in an increase of selling prices for a few products when compared to their launch prices.
— Mi India (@XiaomiIndia) November 10, 2018 The Redmi 6A which is the most affordable smartphone one can purchase from the brand will face an increase in the price of Rs. 600 for the base 2 GB RAM + 16 GB internal storage option resulting in the new selling price being Rs. 6,599 as opposed to a launch price of Rs. 5,999 while the price of the 2 GB + 32 GB option has been increased by Rs. 500 resulting in the new selling price being Rs. 7,499. The Redmi 6 on the other hand which comes with slightly improved internals when compared to the 6A has also received an increment of Rs. 500 for the 3 + 32GB variant and will now retail for Rs. 8,499 instead of the Rs. 7,999 launch price. The Mi LED TV 4C Pro 32 and 4A Pro 49 will now be sold for Rs. 15,999 and Rs. 31,999 respectively which is Rs. 1000 and Rs. 2000 (according to the respective models) more than that launch price. Finally, one of the most reliable 10000mAh power banks in the Indian market, the Mi Power Bank 2i will sell at a revised cost of Rs. 899 which is Rs. 100 more than the previous Rs. 799 price tag. These new prices will come into effect starting at midnight on 11 November 2018.
